Driving Directions

If you're journeying by car, you'll want to locate yourself on Interstate 5. Take the exit for Highway 44 West, signposted for Downtown Redding and Eureka. Once you reach Downtown Redding, switch onto Highway 299 heading west towards Eureka. Just follow this route for around 8 scenic miles and you'll find yourself at the Visitor Center of Whiskeytown National Recreation Area. Whiskeytown NRA is in a Mediterranean climate, which means hot, dry summers followed by cool, wet winters. Summer temperatures often reach the upper 90's to lower 100 degrees Fahrenheit, as well as the occasional thunderstorm.
