Essential Guide to Finding Lewis and Clark National Historical Park
An Overview of the Park's Location
Nestled just south of Astoria and beyond the serene Youngs Bay, the main hub of Fort Clatsop, part of the Lewis and Clark National Historical Park, awaits your exploration. It's located east of the charming town of Warrenton and is a short 14-mile journey north from the coastal city of Seaside.
Discover the Satellite Sites
Extend your adventure to the park's satellite sites. Start with Netul Landing, which is situated a mere 1.25 miles south of the main Fort Clatsop site. Then, don't miss the Middle Village, easily located by taking a left off the Astoria-Megler Bridge on the 101. Continue your journey to Dismal Nitch, which you'll find on the 401, just a right turn off the Astoria-Megler Bridge. Lastly, uncover the history of Salt Works, tucked away off the Lewis and Clark Way in the heart of Seaside, Oregon.

Weather Information
We see an average of 70 inches of rain a year and we are the foggiest location in the Lower 48 states. Summer months are usually nice with days ranging from 55-70 degrees. Winters are wet and mild, usually 40-55 degrees. During the 106 days the Lewis and Clark Expedition wintered at Fort Clatsop in 1806 it rained all but 12 days and they saw the sun 6 times. While we are usually not so dreary make sure to prepare for rain or shine.
