Established as one of the country's first naval shipyards, the Charlestown Navy Yard witnessed 174 years of shipbuilding. Today, it is home to USS CONSTITUTION and USS CASSIN YOUNG (DD-793).

Opened in 1902, the Bunker Hill Lodge has served as a gateway to the Bunker Hill Monument.

As the historic town meeting space, Faneuil Hall has been home to celebrations and commemorations, as well as debates and protests.

Dedicated on March 17, 1902, this Georgian Revival Style tower commemorates the fortification of Dorchester Heights during the Revolutionary War, which led to the British evacuation of the city.

Only 25 people are allowed in the Monument at a time. Last climb is 30 minutes before closure. Be advised: The Monument may close for climbing due to weather conditions and/or other safety considerations.

Closure: USS Cassin Young

USS CASSIN YOUNG is currently closed due to maintenance work on Pier One in the Charlestown Navy Yard. Work is continuing through September. The ship is tentatively scheduled to re-open to the public in October.

Visitor Centers are located at Historic Faneuil Hall, 1 Faneuil Hall Sq, and the Charlestown Navy Yard, Building 5. The Bunker Hill Museum is located at 43 Monument Square, Charlestown. Go to the Directions page for more detailed information.
